UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay talks about the human cost of homophobia and transphobia. Around the world, people are arrested, attacked, tortured and killed, just for being in a loving relationship. "We cannot let these abuses stand", the High Commissioner says, calling on States to repeal discriminatory laws and ban discriminatory practices. "Punish violence and hatred, not love," she says.

International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO) is on May the 17th. The Kaleidoscope Trust is marking this occasion with a lecture by our President, Speaker of the House of Commons, the Rt, Hon. John Bercow MP.
Bradley Secker, a British photo-journalist and supporter of the Kaleidoscope Trust, has produced this video on 'Iraq's unwanted people' - LGBT people forced into exile because of their sexuality. It was produced with the help of Iraqi and Syrian LGBT activists and Gay Middle East.
